Finding out you’re infertile or have fertility issues can be a terrible time for most people but this doesn’t mean that the couple should give up hope on their dream of having children or having another child. There are fertility treatment options and one of these options is in vitro fertilization (IVF). People considering IVF may want to read some IVF success stories to help improve their attitude towards this fertility treatment.
For some couples, searching online, consulting fertility specialists, and looking through the hundreds of leaflets they’ve given can be discouraging. IVF can seem like the last thing to do with low success rates and high medical bills.

But there is light at the end of the tunnel, as they say, and infertile couples shouldn’t give up hope. There are a lot of success stories from couples who thought they would never be able to have children until they tried IVF and it worked for them.

One of the in vitro fertilization success stories is about Kate from Ohio. Kate is now in her mid 30′s. She and her husband tried for nearly 4 years before finally going to see the doctor about problems with conceiving. After seeing the doctor and undergoing numerous tests to see what the cause of their infertility was, there was no definitive diagnosis.

This was a big set back for Kate and her husband. Their initial thoughts where that they would never be able to have children and would possibly have to look into adoption. Their doctor then told them about IVF treatments that were available to them.

After several blood tests and fertility tests, their doctor decided that they would be a good candidate for IVF treatment. Unlike some couples, Kate and her husband were lucky. The procedure was a success on the first time and they were overjoyed.

Kate made sure that she stayed as healthy as she could to keep the pregnancy a success, taking all the fertility drugs she was given, keeping her stress levels down, and keeping a close eye on her weight. Kate and her husband are one of the many success stories that are out there. They now have a baby girl and have said that they will look at using IVF in the future to possibly have more children.

Kate is not the only success story that is out there. Kate’s experience is just another example of why giving up just because there are problems isn’t the right way to go. Susan from Pennsylvania was diagnosed with polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) at the age of 22 and this has been the cause of her infertility. This didn’t stop Susan wanting to have children, straight away she went to a fertility clinic to see what her options where and after looking at all the options, she first decided to try IUI.

Unfortunately this didn’t work, but this didn’t change Susan’s mind about wanting to get pregnant. Therefore, she looked into trying IVF. After 3 cycles, on what she had already decided was her last cycle she got the wonderful news that she was pregnant with twins. This was amazing news and her twins are now healthy and happy. Susan does recommend IVF. Although IVF can be hard on you and your partner, you shouldn’t give up.

There are unfortunately stories that don’t work out the same way that Kate’s and Susan’s did. Jayde from Los Angeles, California, and her husband Tony had been trying for children for 13 months when they decided to see the doctor to check if everything was okay. They found out that Tony has a low sperm count and their chances of being able to conceive were very low.

Upon finding this out, they decided that they would use a sperm donor and IVF to conceive a child. After asking a long-time family friend, Enrique, they used his sperm donation to conceive a child. Although the pregnancy was successful, Jayde sadly experienced a miscarriage at 6 months. The couple have since started IVF again with their friend Enrique’s sperm and are hoping for a more successful pregnancy.

All stories are not sad. There are plenty of happy stories like Angela who had suffered with unexpected and irregular periods throughout her life due to ovulation problems. She did try other ovulation techniques before her and her boyfriend decided that IVF would be the best option. They have since had a successful pregnancy and now are the parents of a healthy little boy.

Looking at all these stories, although there are not always happy ending, there are a lot more stories like Kate’s, Angela’s and Susan’s in the rest of the country. Although IVF can look like risky and like there isn’t going to be any success in it, it is good to keep these success stories in mind. Remain hopeful that you will one day also be able to tell your success story and show other couples who are looking to try to conceive that just because they are having problems with fertility doesn’t mean that there are no options available.
